Delaney's Defense: In her own court documents, Delaney has vehemently denied being under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. However, she did admit to leaving the scene. But here's where it gets controversial: she states her reason for leaving was a fear for her safety. She alleges she was surrounded by onlookers and, due to a “previous history of personal assault in this neighborhood,” she felt threatened. Furthermore, she expressed concern about potential retribution or attack stemming from her “perceived celebrity status.”
But here's where it gets controversial... Badalov’s legal team paints a different picture. They claim Delaney was driving erratically, smelled of alcohol, and even attempted to pay him off to avoid involving the police. Delaney, however, disputes these claims, asserting that the accident was caused by factors beyond her control.
And this is the part most people miss... This legal battle isn't the only storm brewing for Kim Delaney. In a separate, but perhaps related, development, her husband, James Morgan, was recently arrested following a disturbance at their home. The couple, who are reportedly in the midst of a divorce, have a history of a tumultuous relationship.
