They traversed the skies at a distance of 30 to 35 light-years, a mere stone's throw in stellar terms. These stars, much hotter than our Sun, bathed the region in ultraviolet radiation, etching a unique signature on the surrounding clouds of gas and dust. The stars' radiation, however, lingers, and their ionization will gradually fade as atoms capture stray electrons. The stars' fate is imminent; their fuel will deplete in the next few million years, leading to their transformation into supernovae. These stellar explosions, while brilliant, will be at a safe distance, illuminating the sky without causing harm.
